I saw an ad on Facebook about becoming a wine cause entrepreneur. I was intrigued, I mean I buy and drink wine, so why not make some money while doing it?? All the while supporting a good cause [of my choice] with a portion of the sales!? It really sounds too good to be true, the wine must not be very good right?? So, before I was going to tell a single soul what I was going to try next.. I needed to sign up and get my wine kit [pictured below] to taste this wine before I told anyone!! Lemme tell you, once I received my package I immediately called one of my favorite wine friends, Aimee Aldous!! She came over one afternoon and we set up the wines on the counter and tasted almost my entire kit!! Haha!!

I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised at just how good they were!! I think Aimee was too. The wheels in my head started turning and I thought about how not only I, but all of my wine friends could benefit by drinking One Hope wines!! Good tasting wines, at a good price, delivered right to your door. Plus, a portion of every bottle purchased is donated to charity!! It was a win-win-win situation!! The more and more I learned about One Hope the more I believed that they were really on to something. One of my favorite things in the catalogue was the amazing wine gifts sets they had available. Like combine a wine bottle of your choice with the dog toys... as seen below!!

It all started with a group of college friends who were into the wine scene. The co-owners are Jake Kloberdanz, Tiffany Wojtkiewicz, Tom Leahy, Kristen Shroyer, Brandon Hall, and Sarah McPeake. They saw how different manufactures promoted wines for breast cancer awareness or supporting animals in shelters and the like. After one in the group was diagnosed with cancer, they started to wonder “what if giving back wasn’t just a campaign but a core value” of support. This started their dream of changing the world through wine!! I contacted friends, and acquaintances to talk about One Hope and the movement they started to take things “one glass, one gathering, one purpose at a time” I didn’t have enough good things to say.

As a self-professed nerd, I completed the workbook that came in my kit and took advantage of all the training available online. I was pretty hyped… they had all these contests with great prizes if you reached the goals. It really motivated me since I wanted to wine them all!! I bought so much wine [I wanted to taste every bottle] and sent it to friends as gifts, trying to get them hooked like I was!! LOL I sponsored a few fundraisers and my good friend Debbie Flanagan hosted a wine tasting in her home with her friends. [seen above] We had such a blast!! I ordered personalized champagne bottles for our balloon business to use for private flights and special events, I was all in!!

At one time I think I had maybe 8 wine club members, and I even had another cause entrepreneur who joined my team, I really thought this could be something big for me!! I was even dreaming of setting up an outdoor space to offer wine tastings at my home since there is really no place for wine tasting up in our area. One of the neatest things about being a wine rep [what they call us now] is that you can purchase wine off my website and ship it to anyone, anywhere. [anywhere they allow wine to be shipped that is..] You want to send a bottle of champagne to someone who just passed their boards, or graduated college ect.. give me a call and I can make it happen!!

In 2020, after a lot of hard work and a lot of support, the group of friends opened a brick and mortar building, with a vineyard in Napa Valley!! Shawn and I stoped by when we were there October of 2025 and even though they weren't open, I had to stop by and take a photo. My fire may have waned a little and I am not putting as much time and energy into it, but I still just love One Hope!!
Next week Wine with Wixy will be visiting Willcox, Arizona. After attending more than a few wine festivals, I thought it was time to head down to see a few vineyards of some of my favorite wines that I have been tasting.
Cheers to you my wine loving friends, and TTFN!!
