A big hello to all my Wine with Wixy fans, and welcome to my home in Phoenix, AZ!! [Actually we are still just renting during the time of this tasting, but I still call it mine!! Haha!!] As I mentioned last week, we will be doing an "in-home" wine tasting. I know I do not have to remind anyone about what went down during covid, so it's a very good thing we are not hear to talk about it!! LOL!!
However, I AM going to talk about this wonderfully genius idea that I saw somewhere or the other when I started going through a little wine tasting withdrawal!! If you can believe it, I actually do not have a lot to actually "say" this week. My main purpose is to go ahead and make that silk purse out of the sow's ear that covid gave me!! Let's go!!

I do not remember if I went and purchased the numerous bottles of wine needed for this in-home-tasting, or if I pulled from my own reserves. I mean come on, have ya'll seen my wine rack!? Haha!! We are starting in the living room [on the end table] with a lovely Cabernet from J. Lohr. I like a lot of wines from Paso Robles, and I feel like 2017 was a good year. I really enjoyed this first taste!!

On to the dinning room for a nice chilled white blend, on my "puzzle" table. I am pretty sure I either bought this bottle solely for the purpose of this tasting, or it was a gift. You see, I do not buy many white wines, and when I do, they are ones I know I already like. It was probably pretty refreshing, as chilled white wines generally are. I may have enjoyed it, but no doubt I added it just to have a little variety in my tasting.

Above we are in the "heart of the home" [the kitchen] to taste one of my first ever wines with a "screw cap" lid. As I've said before, one of the reasons I enjoy a wine tasting so much is that I get to try multiple different wines. Well, I remember grabbing this incredibly delicious Steak House Cabernet off the bottom shelf!! Haha!! I laugh because if you've ever shopped a grocery store wine isle, you'd know that the bottom shelf is the least inexpensive of wines!! [please note that I didn't say "cheapest" of wines.. LOL]

Ohhh .. let's move into the balloon office, where we will taste one of my favorite red blends from Apothic Red. As you can see from the TV screen above I am a "Happy Girl" I love to sing, and in case you didn't know... karaoke is [one of] wines best friends!! At-least in my house!! I am using a very thoughtful gift, a silicone wine non-glass!! I though it would be better to use near the electronics, it also travels well if you're going hiking!! I may or may not know this from personal experience!!

The master closet may be one of the strangest places for tasting wine, but hey... I was trying to humor myself!! Plus, I love my cedar shelved closet, and I've never had a walk in closet, or one as big as this one for that matter!! Sometimes I just go sit in there, like it's my quiet place. [ok, this may be TMI!! Hahaha] It's a good thing I have done so many tasting over the past couple years or else I may not have had enough glasses to go around the house!! Do you recognize the Enumclaw wine glass above!?

Last but not least... the master bedroom. I appropriately saved this provocative Zin-Phomaniac for the end. [and for the bedroom... haha] It is one of my favorite Zinfandels. I will never forget the first time I came across it. We were in Colorado Springs for the summer, and we took a day trip to explore the area that inspired South Park. We stopped off at this adorable little bistro for lunch in Woodland Park. I chose this wine because of the interesting name and label. The sultry description of the wine also didn't hurt!! HA!! If you're lucky enough to find it, I highly recommend!!
If you think this weeks blog was kinda weird, well... it's because it was!! Haha!! Next week Wine with Wixy will be back to a more "normal" wine tasting. [well, as normal as I ever am.. LOL] We will be headed through [Viva] Las Vegas, baby!! Well, close enough to call it Vegas but, we are actually going to be in Pahrump!!
Cheers to you my wine loving friends, and TTFN!!
