Postino Wine Bar [January 2002]

Well, at least I have always thought of Postino as a wine bar anyways, but no memory is ever perfect. [especially mine!! LOL] In fact, no timeline is ever perfect either. I was wracking my brain to try and remember how I found out about Postino, and to figure out which location I visited first. I then realized [with the help of my FB posts] that I have visited Postino years before, like in 2002 [and probably several times in between] with my very good friend Katrina Kaczmarek.

I met Katrina when I was on assignment at Banner Thunderbird, and it didn’t take long to realize we had a mutual love for wine. I believe she was the one who introduced me to Postino, at the Kierland Shopping Center location in Scottsdale. She is also one of my wine friends whom I have revisited Postino with on many occasions, including several book club meetings and maybe just a few book club dinners!! HA!! We have stayed in touch over the years and we wine together regularly!!

What I didn’t realize was that there were so many Postino locations, there are ten in Arizona alone. [at least half of which I have visited... LOL] I didn’t know that it was a nationwide chain either, as it does not give off that “chain” restaurant kind of feel. The photo above is just one example why Postino became a fan favorite for me and my wine friends. YUMMY!!! Postino is owned by a group investors called Upward Projects. This group was founded by Lauren Bailey and Craig Demarco back in 2001.

In a nutshell, Upward Projects, which is native to Phoenix, Arizona is known for taking old historic buildings in need of rehab and turning them in to spaces where people can gather, eat, drink, and “feel good” all at the same time. I love this concept on all accounts and you can see Eggs, Bacon and Toast doing just that in the photo below!? [IYKYK Hahah!!] I also have to say that each of the Postino locations that I have visited give off a completely different yet comfortable vibe.

As I mentioned, I have been to several of their locations, with different friends, or group of friends. I have even been there by myself, like in the photo above sitting at the bar. Who am I kidding?? I was here waiting to meet up with my work daughter, Hayley!! Haha!! However, the atmosphere is so welcoming that I would totally go by myself.
Next week you are in for a special treat… Wine with Wixy will tell you all about a new wine venture with One Hope Wine that you are not going to want to miss!!
Cheers to you my wine loving friends, and TTFN!!
