I have been known to travel a little out of my way if I found a new spot that I thought looked worth traveling to. I have also been known to find a place nearby to where a friend lives to meet in or near her hometown. Well, I was looking for such a place to meet up with one of my tribe, Amanda Rae (whom you have met several times by now) over in the Surprise, Arizona area. Once we found the place, I sent out an invite to Hannah (my new ICU travel nurse friend, whom you just met last week) to meet up with us!!

I will say this: you never know what you are going to come across when you go to so many new places all the time. However, I think we were all pleasantly surprised by what we found. I mean, first of all, look at these beautiful antique-looking wine glasses [pictured above] that our wine flights were delivered in!! Then, please notice the scrumptious-looking charcuterie boards we ordered in the next few photos. There were just so many wonderful-looking things on the menu we wanted to try them all! The first one is a breakfast charcuterie one; I’ve never even heard of this before, it was so cool!!

We all loved the “This must be the place” sign behind us; I guess that’s why we posed in front of it as seen below!! LOL!! Before you ask, Shawn had the honor of taking said photo, and you can tell by our smiles that we are enjoying everything so far!! Now, you should recognize Amanda Rae, [in the middle] whom I spoke about in the first paragraph, as well as my new friend Hannah, [on the right] whom I just spoke about and introduced to y’all last week! I love that wine speaks to so many like-minded souls from different backgrounds. It draws us together socially, usually forging new friendships.

Quench Taps and Tapas was opened in 2022 by Angie and Jeff Cline. Angie has years of experience in the catering business, even owned her own company, and Jeff has spent almost three decades working in the hospitality industry. This has allowed Angie and Jeff the opportunity to travel all over the United States, where they have visited many wine bars and restaurants. However, when the company Jeff worked for was going to require him to work more days, more hours with travel involved, Angie realized that she didn’t want them to spend so much time apart.

This is when they both decided to "retire" and open a wine bar!! [sounds like a perfectly logical retirement plan to me!! Haha!!] Angie and Jeff knew just what they wanted to offer their customers in the old pizza building they purchased from a elderly gentlemen who wanted to retire. [like really retire.. LOL] A place where people could “quench” their thirst with beer or wine accompanied by some “tapas” [small plates of food, appetizers, or snacks] thus the name Quench Taps and Tapas!! Below is what it looks like when you really enjoy one of the wines in your tasting and you decide to get a glass!! Haha

Next week Wine with Wixy will be going all Bacon, Eggs, and Toast in The Living room!! Haha!! If this seems cryptic, it is meant to be. Otherwise, how would I get you to come back next week to see what the wine I’m talking about!? Haha!!

Cheers to you my wine loving friends, and TTFN!!
